Chicago Park District Track & Field Team Takes Gold and Wins Numerous

All-American Titles at USATF Youth Indoor Championships in Louisville

The USATF National Youth Indoor Championships wrapped up three days of competition Sunday at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center March 17-20 in Louisville, KY.  Hundreds of young athletes ages 7-18 from across the United States converged competing in six age-group divisions featuring a full array of track events and field events, including club relays.

The Chicago Park District’s Gately Park Athletic Club just returned with a mountain of gold and All-American titles!  In its first national championship competition against kids from all over the country, the south-side team took 7 National Champion titles with 13 members of the team receiving All-American status!

The state-of-art Dr Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center opened in July 2020 during the pandemic with a dream to provide Chicago youth a first-class indoor training and competition site.  The Chicago Park District facility experienced its first full season in 2022 with major competitions such as the Big East Championships and Windy City Invitational collegiate events, various high school competitions as well as the City of Chicago Fastest Kids city-wide competition for younger competitors. The facility, operated by world-wide facility manager, ASM Global, recently launched its own running club, the Gately Park Athletic Club, to join team competitions.  The facility’s vision at the onset was to create programs that provide a source of pride for the local community with the potential to provide Chicago youth the resources and training to break personal records, facility records and possibly national records!   This vision is coming to fruition.

The facility is welcoming all youth from around Chicago either new to track and field or current participants to join in the training programs offered at the Dr Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center.  Find the perfect fit at www.GatelyTrackandField.com.
